You are more than a diagnosis, life event, or traumatic experience. By accepting all parts of ourselves, with compassion and understanding, we free up energy to determine where we are headed.
You might be thinking I didn’t put a lot of time into naming my practice, and took the easy way out by using my first name, but surprisingly it took a few months. I pored over tons of phrases and names looking for something catchy, poetic, therapeutically significant until one day I realized it had been in front of me the whole time.
Vera, in the Russian origin, means “faith” and “truth”. Isn’t that what we are all looking for? Something to believe in or something that feels authentic to us and aligned with our values. In the midst of our lives, relationships, jobs, joys, tragedies, we are all looking for what feels true and right for us. And that is my intention for the work we will do together.
When my parents chose my name, it was an intentional effort to find a name that could not be reduced to a nickname. I will honor that same perspective in our work together and will not reduce you to a singular event, a diagnosis, or a traumatic experience. You are so much more than that, and my intention is that with hope, action, and integration, you can find the fullest expression of Yourself.
